Within 48 hours of Mic reaching out we had agreed on a purchase price, signed a contract, and opened escrow at a local title company. We kept inspections minimal – a sewer scope and property walkthrough – out of respect for the existing tenants as much as anything else. Nobody wants a parade of people through their home when they’re just trying to live their lives. The property looked good and we were ready to move forward.

The one wrinkle was the closing paperwork. Mic was down in California, and we had originally arranged for a mobile notary to meet him there for signing. As it happened Mic needed to make one last trip up to the Prineville property to collect some belongings and take them back south with him. We coordinated the signing around that trip so he could handle everything while he was already in Central Oregon – get in, sign, collect his things, and get back to California without any extra hassle.
